A lot of businesses are hurting right now. They say they can't find a lot of people that want to work. This has happened all over the country. This is not just an Amarillo or Canyon problem. It is one that needs to be fixed and fast before we lose more places on a more permanent basis.

As we saw last week businesses are trying. They are looking for creative ways to gain employees. So now when there is a snag in the road it is hurting a little bit more. EA good example is this post I saw from Feldman's Wrongway Diner in Canyon over the weekend:

Feldman’s will be closing at 3:00 p.m. Saturday April 24, 2021 due to staff being out with covid-19 and being extremely short handed. We have decided to close until May 5th, 2021 to get everyone better and back to work. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will see you May 5th, 2021 for regular business hours.
Thank you for your understanding.

If it wasn't enough for a restaurant to already be short-staffed and hurting, an outbreak of covid-19 is forcing them to temporarily close (again!). They closed abruptly on Saturday and have apparently opted to remain closed for longer than it would take to clean the restaurant from top to bottom. Why?
Well it is not helping that they don't have the staff to pull this off. They are making the decision to stay closed to get everyone well. They are also hoping to hire new staff as well. This is a trying time.

This is one I hope all of the businesses can get through. If you are in Canyon or heading there for a meal just know you can't stop at Feldman's for the time being.
