Aaron Haase blasted a three-run homer in the top of the 7th inning and the Amarillo Sandies outslugged Randall 14-11 to take over sole possession of first place yesterday.

Haase’s blast put the Sandies up by five before the Raiders scored two in the bottom of the 7th inning but that's where the comeback ended.

The team’s combined for 25 runs and 31 hits in the matchup of District 3-5A leaders. The win puts Amarillo High alone in first place at 9-0 and gives Randall its first loss at 8-1.

The two teams will meet again on Friday at Sandie Field at John Stiff Park.

In other 3-5A games on Tuesday, Canyon rolled past Dumas 9-1, Plainview edged Caprock 3-2, and Palo Duro won over Hereford 13-6.
