Amarillo High and Caprock boys basketball teams won again on Tuesday to stay tied atop the District 3-5A race.

The Sandies won at home on Tuesday over Palo Duro 54-36. Nathan Betts hit for 16 points and Jarvis Mba scored 15 points as Amarillo High moved to 4-0 in district play. 

Caprock won at Canyon 56-30 to keep pace with the Sandies. Danielle Daniel had the hot hand for the Longhorns with 25 points.

The Sandies and Raiders have their first meeting in district play next Tuesday at Caprock.

Randall is all alone in third place as the Raiders won at Plainview 78-62 on Tuesday. Hereford boys won over Dumas 55-49.

In the 3-5A girls race, Canyon won over Caprock girls to stay perfect in district play. Amarillo High is just one game back after an easy 66-15 win over Palo Duro. Randall girls won last night at Plainview 54-37.

The Tascosa girls basketball team improved to 2-0 in District 2-6A with a win at Midland Lee on Tuesday. The Lady Rebels won 67-46 behind 22 points and 10 rebounds from Ka’Lia Smith.

In 1-4A, Bushland girls defeated Pampa 71-41.

Number one-ranked Canadian won a showdown with River Road in District 1-3A, 55-52.

Highland Park girls fell to Spearman 42-35.

In a non-district boys game, Bushland won over River Road 65-37.
