We do have some great schools here in our area. We have many great school districts to choose from too. If you are looking to move your kiddos from one district another now is the time to make decisions about the next school year.

Maybe you are wanting a change. Maybe you are thinking about moving but want to test out the schools first. There are options.

I loved growing up in the Canyon School District. My daughter was part of the Amarillo School District. So I got first hand exposure to both. We also have Bushland ISD, Highland Park ISD, and River Road ISD.

So to say that there is a selection in our area is an understatement. Amarillo ISD is making it known that they are about ready to take transfers. Oh and they are an open transfer Distric.

What Exactly is an Open Transfer District?

Amarillo ISD is an open transfer district, which means we accept transfer students from other school districts and also grant transfers within the district to current AISD students. Transfer request forms for the 2022-2023 school year will be available on our website beginning March 21. The deadline to apply for priority consideration is May 1, though transfer requests will be accepted after May 1. Come on over--It's an exciting time to be part of the AISD family!

Now is the time to make those decisions for the next school year and get those transfers in on time. Heck the earlier the better.
