One of the main aspects of road trips for me has to do with the kind of weather you're going to run into while on the road. Texas during the summer usually has pretty decent weather. Although you will run into the occasional thunder storm which can be a pain and there will also be a dust storm every now and then. My wife and I just made the trip to Austin this past weekend and we ran into a few patches on the way back to El Paso where visibility wasn't the best. It wasn't bad enough to get us to pull over, but there were a couple times it felt like it might get to that.
