Tascosa Standout Everhart Commits to a College
It has been a fun ride. Major Everhart from Tascosa High School has been scouted for years. He has had to narrow that list down again and again. Could you imagine? So many schools wanting to give you an opportunity?
Oh and let's be fair. So many schools want you to help them too. Right? I have been following the tales of Major Everhart for awhile now. I have known the family since my daughter played Club Basketball with his sister. Now it's go time.
It's crazy to see there was an announcement that Major would pick his final choice for the school he would attend at the Tascosa Pep Rally yesterday. This is so 2021. Like I said many schools scouted him. Major and his family toured many of campuses. A few weeks ago the field was narrowed down to 7 Universities. It's been a heck of a ride.
Then the decision was the final 3. The final choices were between Texas Tech in Lubbock, TCU (Texas Christian University) in Fort Worth and Notre Dame. I mean can I say I was secretly hoping for Notre Dame. Not for any particular reason. They are not my favorite college team at all. I guess it was just the idea that Notre Dame is a power house.
I really think these are all great schools. Major can't go wrong any way he chooses. I secretly kept updating Facebook so I could see when his father Alonzo would post his final choice. I got the update just before noon that the final team standing will be TCU. Good for Major. I love that Alonzo's latest post talked about the decision being done and he just wanted Major to be able to enjoy the rest of his senior year. Kudos to that:
It’s official and I’m so happy for him to be free to just focus on enjoying the remainder of his high school career and being a kid! Thank you everyone for all the support, media coverage, and mentoring. Jacob Morrison, thank you for all the guidance and mentoring! Tascosa coaches and players, let’s ride!!!!
Congrats and let's finish this season off strong. Go Rebs!
