Amarillo police attempting to stop a vehicle reported stolen out of Dumas, were led on a chase that had an unfortunate ending.

Shortly after 11pm Monday night Amarillo police spotted a Honda Civic that had been reported stolen out of Dumas.  The officer attempted to stop the vehicle.  The car refused to stop and a chase ensued.

The driver stopped the car near 210 North Virginia and the occupants fled on foot.  The police officer chased the suspects into a backyard where a dog attacked the officer.  The officer was forced to shoot the dog to protect himself and the suspects.

Three men fled the scene and are still at large.  Ashleigh Daniels, 25 was arrested for evading in a motor vehicle, evading on foot, and endangering a child.
