It's one of the best and most dear events of the year in Amarillo, and it's back for 2021. The 75th Annual Dogie Days is happening June 9-12 at McDade Park in Dumas.

If you don't know about Dogie Days, let me catch you up. It's a big event held every year to support the Dumas Noon Lions club. They raise money throughout the year in order to help out the community in various ways. According to the Dumas Chamber page, the proceeds from Dogie Days goes to certain causes like the Leader Dogs for the Blind and the Texas Lions Camp for handicapped kids among others.

So what exactly is Dogie Days? Well, it's just a whole ton of fun to be honest. A carnival, parade, food booths and town BBQ all take place at the event. It's sponsored solely by the Dumas Noon Lions Club, so you won't have a bunch of people out there peddling their products and services on you. It truly is an event only for them to raise money for their various causes.

Oh, did I mention someone is going to win a car at this thing? Yeah, you heard me right. On the final night of Dogie Days, a car will be raffled off from those who purchased tickets. Can you imagine walking away from Dogie Days with a new car?

Carnival wristbands are only $25 and will get you on all the rides as many times as your heart desires. So come on out and support this incredible event. Nothing is better than something that helps community, and this undoubtedly falls into that category.
