Amarillo High graduate Ryan Palmer had a great Easter weekend on the PGA Tour.

Palmer finished tied for eleventh place in the RBC Heritage Classic on the PGA Tour. Ryan finished 8-under par for the tournament, five strokes behind the winner Wesley Bryan.

- The Amarillo High baseball team has become the first team in the District 3-5A race to clinch a playoff berth. The Sandies finished off a big 11-3 win over Randall on Saturday after the game was suspended by weather on Friday.

– In college baseball, No. 16 West Texas A&M split a doubleheader Saturday at Cameron. The Aggies won the opener 6-5 on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh but the Buffs responded for a 7-4 win in the nightcap.  WT improved to 27-9 on the year and 8-2 in Lone Star Conference play. The series was shortened to two games because of rain in Lawton, Oklahoma.

– The #6 Lady Buffs softball team connected on five homeruns on Saturday afternoon as the registered a pair of run-rule victories over Cameron to claim two of three in the Lone Star Conference weekend in Lawton, Oklahoma. The Lady Buffs improve to 34-7 (19-5 LSC) on the season.

– Former Ranger Nelson Cruz singled in the tiebreaking run to cap a two-run, ninth-inning rally, and the Seattle Mariners overcame a five-run deficit to beat the Texas Rangers 8-7 on Sunday for a three-game sweep. Sam Dyson suffered his third blown save and third loss in six games this season

- The Houston Astros and Athletics game was postponed because of rain in Oakland. No makeup date has been announced.

- James Harden scored 37 and the Houston Rockets pulled away in the third quarter and coasted to a 118-87 victory over Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder Sunday night in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series. The best-of-seven Western Conference series continues Wednesday night in Houston.

In other playoff games, Washington beat Atlanta 114-107, Golden State topped Portland 121-109, and Chicago downed Boston 106-102.

Tonight.  Indiana is at Cleveland after the Cavs won the opener on Saturday. San Antonio hosts Memphis with the Spurs up 1-0 in that series.
