Herd Runs Past Dons in the Wind
The Hereford Whitefaces moved into a tie for 4th place in the District 3-5A football race with a 26-7 win over Palo Duro last night at Dick Bivins Stadium.
Hereford built a 19-0 lead before the Dons Tony Green broke a 53-yard touchdown run to make it 19-7 in the third quarter but that would be as close as PD would get. Both teams are now 2-3 in district.
- Tonight, Amarillo High and Dumas try to stay at the top of the standings as the Sandies play at Randall and Dumas hosts Canyon. Both teams are 4-0 in district play.

The other 3-5A contest has Caprock traveling to Plainview.
Tascosa is at home against Midland High in 2-6A as the Rebels try to move closer to a playoff berth.
- The West Texas A&M men’s soccer team clinched its second-straight Heartland Conference West Division title with a 1-0 win at home last night over UT-Permian Basin.
- The Lady Buff volleyball team is at "The Box" this weekend with a pair of Top-25 Lone Star Conference matchups. They will host #21 Angelo State on Friday night at 6 p.m. followed by a Saturday matchup with #11 Tarleton State.
- The Buffalo football team hosts 9th ranked Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday. Commerce is led by former WT defensive coordinator Colby Carthel.
Texas Tech is at Oklahoma tomorrow night in the Big 12 Conference.
