Former Dumas Coach to Lead Sandies’ Football Program
Chad Dunnam is the new Amarillo High head football coach.
Dunnam was unanimously approved by Amarillo ISD’s Board of Trustees at a meeting last night.
Dunnam comes to Amarillo High after 5 years at Dumas, turning that program into a district title contender. He was selected as District 3-5A Coach of the Year in 2017 after the Demons won the district title that included a lopsided win over the Sandies.
Prior to his position in Dumas, he spent 5 years as the Defensive Coordinator at Tascosa High School and 2 years at Pampa. His overall coaching record is 31-22.
A news conference is set for 11 a.m. today at the administration building to officially introduce Dunnam.
