Canyon Leads District 3-5A Girls Basketball Race

Canyon, Amarillo High, Caprock and Randall girls basketball teams all posted District 3-5A wins Tuesday night.

No. 2 ranked Canyon held Palo Duro scoreless in the first half en route to a 69-17 win to improve to 4-0 in district play. 5^th ranked Amarillo High improved to 3-1 and handed Plainview its first loss 62-24. Randall girls are also 3-1 after a win over Hereford 64-49 and Caprock defeated Dumas 54-39.

On the boys’ side, Palo Duro, Amarillo High, Caprock and Randall all won district games. The Dons evened their district mark at 1-1 by racing past Canyon 53-17. The Sandies are 2-0, winning at Plainview 65-50. The Longhorns are also 2-0 as Caprock beat Dumas 67-52. Randall defeated Hereford 50-37 to improve to 2-0.

In non-district play, Tascosa boys topped the century mark in a win over Coronado, 103-83.
