Four members of the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs were honored at the annual LSC volleyball postseason awards banquet in Stephenville on Wednesday.

WT Senior Crystal Thomas was named to the Lone Star Conference First Team while Selena Batiste and Erin Clark were honored with a spot on the 2nd Team, senior Kamille Jones was named to the Honorable Mention Team. Clark was also tabbed the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year.

The 5th seeded Lady Buffs take on the fourth seeded Texas A&M-Kingsville today at 5 p.m in the LSC Tournament quarterfinals in Stephenville.

– Coming off two outstanding performances last week, West Texas A&M men’s basketball junior Ryan Quaid was named Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Quaid opened the season with 15 points and 17 rebounds in a 90-69 victory Friday over visiting Adams State.  He followed that performance with 17 points and nine rebounds in an 83-63 victory over Western State Saturday.

-- West Texas A&M junior guard Deleyah Harris has been tabbed the Lone Star Conference Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.  Harris averaged 11.0 points per game, including nine points and seven rebounds with six steals in the season opener against UC-Colorado Springs on Friday afternoon followed by an 11-point outing on Saturday at Regis with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The #9 Lady Buffs will host their first action of the season at home tonight as they welcome University of Science & Arts (Oklahoma) to Canyon with tipoff set for 5:30 p.m. Fans can hear the game with pregame beginning at 5:15 p.m. on Lonestar 98.7 FM.
