Amarillo we love our Mexican food. We love it in all forms. We love Tex Mex. We love it all. We will take fast food or we are good at sitting down at a restaurant. We just love food.

When we get word that a new place is opening up we are thrilled. We got word a bit ago about a new taquito place called Roll Em Up headed to Amarillo. I called it back in May that this may be our newest mystery:

As far as a location. They haven't revealed that yet. It looks like they have the place picked out but apparently there is something already in the location. So I smell a story here too. It looks like we may be losing another restaurant.

Oh, and I was right. Here is what we recently found out. The location they are moving into is on 45th. That came from them:

They open up in Amarillo in August. We know they will be on 45th. Do we know the exact location? No. Why? Because they are moving into an existing restaurant on 45th. The employees don't know that this place will be closing is what I gather.

I mean that really is what they said:

It's an existing restaurant that we are converting so we will announce the location soon. On SW 45th Ave

So I took a drive down 45th to see if I could figure out which place it is going to be. Many guesses have been that it could be The Catch?

Could it be Oscars or Red River Steakhouse?

We have that shopping center at 45th and Bell that has Tokyo, Wing Stop, Giovanni's, and Subway. Could it be one of those?

Maybe we are losing another Weinerschnitzel?

I mean there are a lot of existing restaurants on 45th that this could be. How about Waffle House? Maybe we are also losing another Donut Stop and not just the one in Canyon.

Are Sonic's days numbered? Say it ain't so Whataburger? Maybe it's Grandma's Cocina or Rise N Shine Donuts? I feel like the Rosa's, La Fiesta Grande and Drunken Oyster are safe.
