I-27 has left Amarillo and Lubbock with no place to go since it was constructed in the '80's.  When your stretch of Interstate reaches one town it falls in the category of a road to nowhere.  There is a push to change that.

Lubbock Mayor Glen Robertson is spearheading the effort to expand I-27.  The lofty goal would see the road extended as far north as Denver and as far south of Laredo.

The proposed highway would have major ramifications for businesses along the Dumas corridor.

Right now Mayor Robertson is meeting with several cities along the proposed roadway.  The purpose is to gauge interest, insight and support for the expansion.
