Is The Construction Nightmare in Amarillo Coming To An End?

Yes, we have heard jokes about how our baseball team should have been the Amarillo Traffic Cones and such. It seems like Amarillo has been under construction in all directions.

First it seemed like it took years and years to get the Exchange done. Getting people on their way to Canyon. It was open for a short bit then it was under construction again. Then there has been all the construction I-40 East near Ross. I hear that is getting better.

I will admit I haven't been that way in awhile. I will next week getting ready for Chamber BBQ when I will be making several trips to Sam's.

The one that made me happy was leaving downtown and wanting or needing to go I-40 East. You know when I have to take a co-worker to the airport. Previously you had to go I-40 West and wrap around at Washington Street. Or head to the airport via Amarillo Boulevard. It's been a pain.

So when I drove home from work yesterday and saw this....I had to take a picture.

I don't know when it opened back up. But it had to be over the weekend. So I feel we may be getting closer to getting all the cones gone. I know they are still all over I-27 near Hollywood  too....but even that is getting better.

Here is to getting all the cones gone and soon. Just in time to start the process all over again. I know it's crazy to be so excited for something so little. I try to take my victories where I can.
