Ok when I saw the announcement on Facebook recently I could not have been more excited. I am like a kid at heart so yeah the news that United Supermarket had me with a smile on my face.
There is no surprise that we have a shortage of workers here in Amarillo. Heck all over the country. People have been unemployed and collecting that extra cash. That is ending soon.
My daughter surprised me over the weekend and drove to Amarillo to see me for Mother’s Day. I was not expecting this at all. When she comes to town I like to take her grocery shopping so she has new recipes and plenty of meals when she goes home.
I have lived in Amarillo for a big portion of my life. I know how construction can be. It seems it is never over. It’s part of life that we jus have to deal with. Once it is done then in a certain area it gets better but while it is going on it can seem just the longest.
I love to cook. It's actually one activity that I really enjoy. I especially love learning about new foods and combinations. There is not a whole lot of foods that I do not like. I also like to find new dishes that are healthy.
I left the radio station yesterday and had to make a stop at Walgreens on Georgia to pick up a prescription. I looked at my gas gage and saw I had 130 miles until empty. Since I would be right by Market Street I would stop and get gas. Why not?
I feel like I am a constant fixture at two places near my house. I live at Market Street United and the Walgreens on Georgia. Those are my go-to places. Just stopping at those two places can get me anything I need for the week.
We have luckily started getting really good and washing our hands. They can be full of so many germs, viruses and gross things that can make us sick. We know warm water and soap is the best defense. Oh and yes we need to scrub for at least twenty seconds. Don't forget it is also important to dry our hands well too
It's been crazy to watch the price of gas through all of this covid-19 outbreak. I went to Dallas and the cheapest I paid was $1.04 per gallon. I thought that was crazy. Crazy enough that I had to stop and fill up even if I could have made it all the way home.
