As of today, June 30th, 2021, Texas stumbles around in clown shoes.

Texas is so bought into red state-blue state politics that real change is practically impossible. Instead, we'll watch as local "weed tourists" head just a few hours over the border, west, south and northeast now.

Texas farmers could be raking in the dough with this cash crop. We could have a replacement crop that farmers could plant when the cotton or sorghum goes bad. We're a little too late to be innovators, but we have the land and the space to make a lot of this happen.

Our leaders have become very adept at creating 'demons'; things like alcohol on Sundays or same-sex marriage were supposed to ruin your life and everything it stood for. It hasn't happened. It's not going to happen. We're just going to sit here until the state that could see the most upside to this is landlocked and left behind.

Meanwhile, normal everyday people are getting pot, smoking pot and consuming pot. Normal people who want to relax, or even those who have aches and pains they need to treat have to travel or go black market. Normal people are also going to jail. Taking things a step further, we're creating career criminals who smuggle weed because there's so much demand.

I'm sorry, Texas. You may have to suffer through a Democratic or Independent Governor if you ever want to join the rest of the world. If you truly believe in freedom, then you should have the freedom to decide what you put into your body, and you don't currently have that.

It is time for a change.
