After our baby sitter canceled on us due to feeling sick, my wife and I were left trying to figure out how to salvage our night. We got an invite to Maxwell's Magical Christmas, so we decided to go see just how much the pumpkin farm changes for the holidays.

There Are Christmas Light Displays...Everywhere

If you're looking for a lot of Christmas light displays to enjoy with the family, they definitely have you covered at Maxwell's Magical Christmas. In fact, you drive in through a Christmas light tunnel.

That's just the beginning.

There are Christmas light displays everywhere. A majority of the staple attractions from the fall are decked with holiday decorations.

There's even a hayride that will take you through a plethora of light displays.

There Are Some Things That Are New For The Holidays

Once we got further into Maxwell's and away from the entrance, we found my favorite part of the Magical Christmas experience. The fire pits. Near the area where they have the duck races, you'll find several fire pits that serve a dual purpose.

One, you can toast marshmallows at the fire pits for the s'mores kits they sell. Two, they actually do a decent job of keeping you warm.

Holiday Face Lift On Maxwell's Pumpkin Farm Staples

Speaking of the duck races, they got a bit of the holiday treatment. So did the big barn with all of the slides. When it comes to slides, we're all familiar with what I like to call "slide mountain." It has the big slide you ride down on a burlap sack. It also has the tube slides.

Slide mountain also got the holiday treatment. The interesting thing to me about it all, is how the holiday face lift seemed to give these attractions, that I'm very familiar with, a sense of "newness."

The "lawn" area where you go to sit while your kids bounce their brains out, is now home to a massive Christmas tree that is perfect for taking photos in front of.

Let's Get Down To Brass Tacks, Is Maxwell's Magical Christmas Worth The Cost

This is the tough part. As is the case with most things like Maxwell's, you will more than likely spend more money once you're inside. Your ticket is just your pass to get in.

Budget accordingly.

If you purchase your tickets online, they are cheaper. Plus, if you've been wanting to get photos with Santa taken care of, they do have a place to get free photos with Jolly Ol' Saint Nick. The kids can play, and you get your photos. That might be worth the price alone.

Leaving, I felt like we had experienced something special in the area, and I'm likely to go back.

You absolutely can not deny the fact that the crew at Maxwell's works incredibly hard every fall, and now winter. It's obvious that a lot of hard work went into this.

Decide for yourself. Check out this gallery of pictures I took from my trip out to Maxwell's Magical Christmas...
