Local Sports Headlines – Tascosa Baseball Wins District Game
Tascosa picked up its first District 2-6A baseball win on Thursday.
The Rebels won a back and forth game with Midland Lee 9-8 on a walk off game winning RBI by Andres Hernandez. Tascosa moves to 1-1 in district play.
- The District 3-5A baseball race gets going today with a full schedule of games. Amarillo High is at Caprock, Palo Duro hosts Plainview, Randall
is at Dumas, and Canyon is home against Hereford.
- Two more playoff matchups for next week have been announced in high school soccer.

– In a matchup of the teams with the top two records in the Lone Star Conference, the No. 4 West Texas A&M baseball team visits No. 8 Angelo State
this weekend for a key regional non-conference series. Both the Buffs and Rams are 16-2 on the year and ranked in the top ten.
The series begins today with a single game at 6:30 p.m. in San Angelo.
– The #12 Lady Buff softball team is also in San Angelo this weekend as they renew one of the best rivalries in Division II Softball with the #2
Belles of Angelo State in a Lone Star Conference series. Game one is tonight at 7 p.m.
Angelo State enters the weekend with an overall record of 28-1 with a 9-0 mark in LSC play and has won 24 straight games. WT is 22-4 overall and 7
-2 in the LSC.
