As I write this, I can already hear my girlfriend telling me how much I need to get a dog. This weekend, Amarillo's Animal Management & Welfare will be hosting a Clear The Shelter event. It won't break the bank, you get a new four-legged friend, and you'll be helping out in a big way. It's shocking how many dogs and cats they're hoping to get adopted this weekend.

What Is The Clear The Shelter Event In Amarillo, Texas?

The Clear The Shelter event gives you the chance to adopt a pet and help clear the shelter. There is a crazy number of adoptions they're hoping to make happen this weekend, and it makes you think that there are a lot of animals needing homes in the shelter. It's sad to think about, really.

For $25 you can adopt a dog or $5 for a cat. That fee includes essentials like vaccines, spays and neuters, and microchips. I don't when the last time you got a pet vaccinated was, but $25 for that is one heck of a deal.
