APD reported two of its officers have been struck by a drunk driver at 2:59 am this morning while blocking the westbound lanes of Amarillo Blvd at Madison while assisting Amarillo Fire.

Police state that a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer being driven by 34 year old Angelo Ramos made its way down Amarillo Blvd and stuck the first APD squad car on the drivers side which caused the vehicle to be pushed into the second Ford Explorer unit, each manned by an officer.

Each officer is listed as having serious, non life threatening injuries, Ramos was medically cleared after being transported to the hospital along with the officers and then subsequently booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

Ramos has been booked with charges for intoxication assault. APD noted that "Alchohol is a factor in this crash"
