Saturday afternoon a traffic stop on I-40 turned into another drug seizure.

A DPS trooper stopped a 2002 Jeep Liberty for a traffic violation while traveling east on i-40 near Conway.

During a search of the vehicle the trooper discovered 20 pounds of meth wrapped in cellophane packages worth approximately $1.78 million dollars.

Jose Perez Ruelas, 21, and Juan Lopez Niebla, 33, both of Mexico were taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.  They were booked into Carson County Jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from Phoenix to Oklahoma City.
