A criminal complaint has been filed against two after a traffic stop on I-40 in Carson County.

The DPS conducted the stop, the DEA has taken over prosecution of the case.  According to court documents the couple was stopped for failure to signal lane change and no seat belt for the rear passenger.

The DPS received consent to search the vehicle from the driver.  Inside troopers found 11 bundles of cocaine, weighing 6.86 pounds, in the transmission and transfer case.

The couple admitted picking up the vehicle in Chihuahua, Mexico traveling through El Paso and heading for Oklahoma City.  They were paid $3000 for the delivery.

Luis Castaneda-Rosas and Alba Gonzalez-Hernandez both face one count of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine, a federal charge.
