National CleanUp Day is September 19, and the City of Amarillo is taking part once again. The city is looking for volunteers to participate by meeting coordinators at your closest elementary school. The City is recruiting coordinators to be at all Amarillo elementary schools, if you would like to volunteer call or text 806-678-4615 or 806-670-8064.

Hosting the event is Keep Amarillo Clean and the AAYC Community Center. National CleanUp Day was held in 2017 and had more than 225,000 volunteers. The 2018 event had over 1,500,000 volunteers; 14 million pounds of waste collected, and was held in conjunction with the inaugural World CleanUp Day. The 2019 cleanup day had almost 2,000,000 volunteers, 18 million pounds of waste collected.
