The Buffs trailed 28-13 at halftime and the WT defense held the potent Lions offense to just one touchdown in the second half.  However, the Buffaloes offense continued to struggle in the red zone, after missing out of several scoring opportunities.

Emotions were high late in the game as WT used its timeouts with Commerce throwing long passes and even attempting a field goal on the final play. Buffs first-year head coach Hunter Hughes and Lions head coach Colby Carthel, the former WT defensive coordinator, had words after the game.

The Buffaloes fall to 3-6 on the season and 1-5 in the Lone Star Conference. WT will travel to Angelo State this Saturday.
