United Supermarkets Canyon Pharmacies receive 300 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine

United Supermarkets Pharmacies in Canyon have received 300 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine according to health officials with the City of Canyon who expect the vaccine to arrive within weeks to other clinics in town. The Moderna vaccine has an effective rate of 95% against the Coronavirus and does not require the sub zero storage facilities of other vaccines.

The city is administering the vaccine to those included in phase 1A of the Governor's allocation plan for the State of Texas which includes frontline workers in Hospital Settings who work directly with patients as well as EMT's, First Repsonders, Long Term Care Staff among others. plans are already in place to transition to phase 1B and widening distribution.

For now those hoping to receive the vaccine are encouraged to contact United Supermarket Pharmacies to set up an appointment.
