Trade-A-Thon Callers Vote Apples Favorite
Things got fruity Saturday morning on News Talk 940.
It's the want ads without paper, the not ready for print classifieds and the Facebook listings without a profile. We do it every Weekend and we do it for you.
THE BIG QUESTION
When you call in you will be asked a poll question before giving your listing. We call it The Big Question. It helps us get to know our callers better and provides a running theme throughout the show. It's always lighthearted and sometimes topical.
This week for no other reason than we felt like it, the question was one of fruit.
What is your favorite fruit?
Plus lemons, strawberries, kiwi, oranges, mango, tomatoes, halos, cherries, pomegranate, and raspberries all got a vote.
I was the one who voted lemons. I've been drinking a lot of lemonade lately.
We have rules governing conduct on the show and we make sure everybody knows them by going over them at the beginning of each hour. It helps make a smooth show when everyone follows the rules.
Along with the five regular rules I always bring you a special Rule #6. It's usually inspired by something that happened in my life of the last week or so.
I've been an off and on RedBull drinker for over 20 years. I would drink it for a time, get tired of it, and find something else to drink. However since I stopped alcohol around five years ago I hadn't stop the RedBull. In fact, over the course of time I was slowly drinking more and more daily.
Three weeks ago I cracked open a RedBull before Trade-A-Thon and it was disgusting. I couldn't drink it. I decided to quit.
What followed was a week of some of the most difficult substance withdrawal I've had the sad misfortune to experience. No energy, poor attitude, no appetite for nearly four days, it was horrible. Thankfully I did not crave any RedBull. There should be a warning the energy beverage is habit forming.
Hopefully I've saved somebody for having a similar experience. Protect yourself, follow Rule #6.
Rule #6: Kick the energy beverages before they kick you.
See you this Saturday for a RedBull and alcohol free Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon!
