Around the holidays Amarillo's residents are able to put up some pretty impressive light displays. The Botanical Gardens, Chase and Amarillo National Bank's Towers, Wolflin Village, and Candy Cane lane do a great job of lighting up Amarillo during this time of year.

But in comparison, none of these light displays hold a candle to this local Christmas light show.

From November 24th to January 6th, at the hours of 7 pm to midnight, free full-length light shows are held by Tangled Lights Productions. Each show lasts 12 minutes and repeats until the end of the night, meaning that you've got more than enough chances to catch this show.

The 20-minute show features over 30,000 choreographed and synchronized Christmas lights that move and flicker to the audio provided on 101.5 FM that accompanies the show.

Tangled Lights Productions' show has been running annually every Christmas since 2015, and every year the production quality gets bigger and better, with new additions being added. By 2021 the show caught the attention of ABC's The Great Christmas Light Fight, who featured Tangled Lights Production's show on their 2nd episode of season 9.

And the most amazing part of this whole thing?

The entire light show was conceived by and is still run by 20-year-old college student, Andrew Wilhem with the help of family and friends.

Wilhelm, the creator of Tangled Lights Productions and its shows was and still is able to juggle school and running this entire production.

This year's production will be the last at the 11816 Flying W Trail location and will move to a new location in the coming years, so be sure to come out and enjoy while it's still here.
