The Amarillo Police Wants to Show You How They Work

Have you ever been interested in the inner workings in our Amarillo Police Department? I mean it is a fascinating job. The things they see every day I can only imagine. If this is the type of thing you would love to witness first hand then don't wait.

You have until Friday to sign up for the Amarillo Police Department's Citizen's Police Academy. There are so many great areas to learn about during the academy. This will not be a boring time at all.

You will learn all about the Patrol Division, the Canine Unit, the Motorcycle Unit. If that is not enough you will get to learn about the School Liaison Department. Have you wondered how the gang violence was handled? There will be a class on that.

If Crime Scene Investigation interests you like it does me, that is covered as well. You will hear from the Narcotics Department and the SWAT Team. Like I said this will not be boring at all.

This is not all just classroom learning. You will get to take tours of the Amarillo Police Department. You will have the opportunity to check out the evidence room. You will even get to check out the Amarillo Emergency Communication Center. You may get to check out some actual 9-1-1 calls.
