Just over eight months after his season-ending knee surgery, Deshaun Watson is ready to pick up his NFL story where it left off after just seven games.

The Texans starting quarterback, who set multiple rookie passing and touchdown records in just six starts, spent his offseason rehabbing his way back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

This offseason, Watson participated in 7-on-7 drills in during the team's OTA practices. He made significant strides in his rehab, even shedding his knee brace by the end of veteran minicamp in June.

The Texans will have their first workout of training camp today in West Virginia.

Heading into the first practice, the team placed four players on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

In addition, the Texans have placed S Andre Hal on the Non-Football Illness list.

- Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says his players won't be allowed to stay in the locker room for the national anthem. Jones is the first owner to declare publicly that his players must be on the field for the anthem. Last week, the NFL and the players' union agreed to suspend a rule approved by owners this spring that gave players the option of staying in the locker room while allowing teams to discipline players who took a knee or sat during the anthem.

- Julio Jones' standoff with the Atlanta Falcons will apparently end today.

General manager Thomas Dimitroff announced late Wednesday night that the wide receiver will report to training camp today, ending a holdout over his contract. Dimitroff said in a statement that they have come to an agreement with Julio, and will re-address everything in 2019.

- The Colorado Rockies held the World Series champion Houston Astros to one hit at Coors Field in a 3-2 victory. However it took a Charlie Blackmon a solo home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to win it.

- Khris Davis hit a towering two-run homer in the ninth inning as the Oakland Athletics rallied again to the beat the Rangers 6-5. Texas led 5-1 in the sixth inning. Davis hit a three-run homer in the seventh to get the Athletics to 5-4. He has homered in six consecutive games against Texas.
