Amarillo has said hello and goodbye to a lot of places to eat recently. I am excited when we get new places opening up their doors to try. It's tough to keep a restaurant going. Especially with the challenges that have faced us with finding employees.
Friday, October 9, is International Beer and Pizza Day, and what better way to celebrate then highlighting the best joints around Amarillo for beer and pizza.
This was one of those stories I really hated to see. I hate seeing any business close down but this is one that I have gone to many of times. See it is in Downtown Amarillo and right by one of my workplaces. So this was a bummer to see over the weekend happen.
So let me ask real fast...who likes pizza? Who likes good pizza? We have a lot of great local places to get pizza here in Amarillo. I feel when the competition goes like this we in Amarillo just get the win.
We need to step up and help our favorite restaurants. We live in a place where regardless of Covid we need to support our local businesses. A lot were hit hard back in March and here we go again the restaurants are taking a hit. It is hard to stay afloat when you can't open up all the way.
When it comes to restaurants and places to eat in Amarillo, there is certainly no shortage. But how do you know that you are dinning at one of the best places in town?
I love when food gets their own day. National Ice Cream Day, or Steak Day or Calf Fry day. Is that a thing? It should be. Maybe tomorrow, we'll put calf fries on pizza!
