Who would have thought that when we started 2020 that not only would we have new words in our vocabulary. You know like social distancing, covid, maskne. We also had to deal with new conditions too.
So every July we head to Downtown Amarillo. Our goal is to win a new Harley and party the night away. The Harley Party for the Downtown Women's Center is a thing. I have been there a few years. Heck, supporting Family Support Services after the year they have had. We are all in.
You go in to the dentist and they ask you how often you floss. You may admit how you don't floss as much as you know you should. Does this seem familiar to you? I know I get asked that every time. I have gotten better at it. I at least try to remember a few times a week. That, I feel, is making huge improvements.
If this year has taught us anything it is that we can finally be cleaner. We have been sanitizing things. We have been washing our sheets more. We are keeping those masks clean. Overall we want everything cleaner. We are doing a good job.
I still find it surreal to see so many people walking around with masks on. I never thought that this is what 2020 had in store for us. I don't know how many times I get to the door at Walgreens or United and have to walk back to grab my mask.
So of course during the pandemic we did learn that washing our hands is very important to stopping the spread. We have learned all types of tips. We know we need to wash our hands for at least 20 seconds. We also know that hand sanitizer is good but not as good as actually using soap and water.
