Recent Heavy Rains Provide Excellent Breeding Ground For Mosquitoes

If you noticed an increase of mosquitoes in Amarillo.  The bad news is the swarm is just getting started.

The city reminds you to be proactive and to lessen the amount of standing water on your property which is the perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes.  This includes emptying bird baths and fountains.

It is expected the mosquito population will greatly increase over the next two to three weeks.  If you plan on being outside be sure to wear plenty of mosquito repellent.
