The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has released a preliminary estimate of damage of recent wildfires around the area.

The current damage estimate does not include all losses and is not the final word on total damages.  The most updated information has the total around $21 million.

The breakout includes $6.1 million for lost pasture, $6.1 million in fencing, $3.8 million for buildings and corrals, $4 million in livestock losses, and $1 million in emergency hay and feed.  The numbers do not include equipment losses and the numbers will change when specific losses are reported.

The March 6th fire also killed an estimated $2,500 cattle.
