New Amarillo Red Light Cameras On Duty This Week

The City of Amarillo has added red light cameras to four intersections.

The new locations will be active this week, ready to snap a photo of anyone running the red light.  The cameras are now at West Amarillo Boulevard and Tascosa Road, East Amarillo Boulevard and North Fillmore, East Amarillo Boulevard at North Pierce, and South Taylor and SW 10th Avenue.

There was a camera at South Pierce and SE 3rd but that camera was moved to the Tascosa Road intersection.  The city maintains there were very few accidents or violations in that area.

The existing cameras have generated over $1 million in revenue for the year.
