On the morning of March 30th, a man was shot and killed at the 1500 block of Bell St.

Officers received a call around 5am about the shooting and found one person dead on the scene. The suspect has already been identified, but is not in custody as of the writing of this article.

This is the second shooting in six months to happen at an apartment complex on this particular block.

Back in September, 22 year old Ladarius Johnson was gunned down at the same apartment complex. When responders arrived, Johnson was still alive but succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Police arrested 20 year old Dylan Mims in that shooting and he is currently at the Potter County Detention Center.

So what is it about this block that is spurring all these shootings?

There are houses all over the place right there on Bell, and it doesn't appear to be in a terrible part of town. The Don Harrington Discovery Center is pretty much right up the street here. he Little Armadillo Apartment complex is the one that's along this stretch of Bell. They offer up studio to two bedroom places built in 1974.

Is this apartment complex attracting the wrong clientele? Or is it simply just an area where it's easy to start shooting? I mean, one suspect is in custody and the most recent is already identified, so it doesn't appear to be an easy place to get away from.

Is this area turning into a "stay away at night" kind of place unless you live there?
