When you have a favorite dish at a favorite restaurant in Amarillo and it closes down it means tragedy. You end up searching for a place that offers something close. Country Pride Enchiladas are one dish that comes to mind.

How about those Gardski's cheese rolls or their fried cheese? Oh, those were good.

I miss the queso from Leal's luckily I can buy that at Market Street.

I loved the flauta's wrapped in flour tortillas from Ruby Tequilas. Or their queso flameado. Do you remember the flaming dish of cheese they brought you to dish into tortillas? Yummy.

Another thing I really miss and keep chasing is the breakfast burrito from Judy's. Their burritos were great. I also can't find a place that does their hot sauce like they do. I am especially talking about the green sauce they served. It was pure jalapeno. It was SO good.

So since Judy's closed I have missed it. They did reopen for a short time as Mama J's I believe. Oh, I went and enjoyed their burritos again.

They are now closed. Judy, the namesake, has since passed away. With her passing back in March, I thought it meant the hunt for my burritos and sauce would be gone forever. The restaurant has turned into a donut place so no chance I will get that same huge burrito from there.

So I found earlier where Judy's daughter, Jamie Carlson, is keeping her moms memory alive. She is actually making burritos and delivering them in Amarillo. You will have to message her on Facebook to place your order. From what I can tell you also have to pay in cash. I'm in though.

She makes burritos and delivers them Monday - Saturday from 11 am until 6 pm. So I had to try it out for myself. My daughter was really excited to see that we would be able to have Judy's breakfast burritos once again.

For those of y’all that loved Judy’s place on Grand her daughter Jamie Carlson is making their burritos and delivering them don’t miss out she’s the real deal and was there for over 15 years with her mom with this recent passing of Judy this is something that makes her still feel close to her mom and make money before school goes back so get your orders in and let Jamie take care of y’all - Jordanna

So I will place an order this weekend and will be back with a review. Here is to reliving the glory days of Judy's Burritos and that awesome hot sauce of theirs.
