Lunch & Charity Support? Hit Up The Salt & Pepper Luncheon.

So one of my favorite things to do is support different charities around town.

It's even better when there's food and drink involved.

The 23rd Annual Salt & Pepper Luncheon is set to go off March 10, and all proceeds will benefit the InterFaith Hunger Project at Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle.

If you don't know about this event, its a great one to attend from what I hear. A nice, light lunch of soup and salad is served, and of course dessert. The menu will be designed and prepared by executive chef Jason Haschke this year.

While you're enjoying your lunch, you'll hear a great speech from this years keynote speaker, Barbara Whitton.

Barbara is a big time volunteer in the community, there's a good chance she's been at a charity event you attended. Her and her husband Jim do a lot of philanthropic work in Amarillo, so you know this speech will be a good one.

So what is the InterFaith Hunger Project? It's a program where those over the age of 55, or those with disabilities can be provided with a monthly supply of healthy, nutritious food. In order to qualify for this program, you need to be on a fixed income.

They're always looking for volunteers to help deliver the items to their members, and the luncheon would be a great place for you to get yourself signed up.

Tickets for the luncheon will run you $35 a piece, or you can reserve a table beginning at $300.
