This winter, there is a charity event taking place in Amarillo called 'Killing Covid With Kindness' and it gives you six ways to spread holiday cheer in the Texas Panhandle.

Dine and Help High Plains Children's Home

You can dine at one of the following restaurants, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to High Plains Children's Home.

Thank Nurses With a Small Token of Appreciation

This one is a custom t-shirt made for nurses in Amarillo as a way of saying thank you. They have space on the back for branding if you have a business and would like to purchase a spot. You can also purchase t-shirts for $20. For more info call 806-353-1055 ext. 7021.

Toys From Santa

This option gives you the opportunity to help make sure every child at High Plains Children's Home has a happy holiday. You can donate a game or activity-based toy. The drop off location is 5701 Town Square Blvd in Amarillo, next to the elevator outside of Suite 150.

Create Cards of Love

You can create letters of love to help spread holiday cheer this year for area nursing home residents. Cards, drawings, and paintings are listed as examples. Help with Snow Day Meals for Meals On Wheels

Meals On Wheels is needing help getting ready for possible snow days. You can donate non-perishable food items to help out. Donations need to be in by Nov. 11. You can drop off your donation at 5701 Town Square Blvd in Amarillo, next to the elevator outside of Suite 150.

Help Create Gift Baskets for Firefighters

This one is titled Essentials For Our Essential. Gift baskets will be delivered to area firehouses, and you can help stock those gift baskets with things our firefighters will need like body soap, lotion, shower/bathroom items.
