WTAMU Earns Top Ranking as One of the Best Valued Schools in the West

One of the great things about living in Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle is we have a University in our backyard.   West Texas A&M University is located in Canyon, Texas and a great place to attend for a higher education.

Not only is WTAMU a great university, it is also a very affordable place to receive an education and offers a wide selection of degree programs as well as graduate programs.

Most students look outside their home area to further their education once they graduate high school because they received scholarships from other colleges or they want to get away from home and learn life on their own.  That's OK.

However, for those that weren't able to attain scholarships from other schools, but still want to further their education, WTAMU is a great place for a degree and it won't completely break you financially.

WTAMU was recently ranked #5 in Best Value Schools in the West according to U.S. News and World Report.  WT formerly held the #20 position in 2022-2023.

The average cost to attend WTAMU for 30 hours including housing and meals is $19,013 for Texas residents and $20,725 for out-of-state residents.

According to WTAMU, they are also moved from 56 to 47 in the Best Regional Universities West Rankings. They moved from #27 to #24 in the Top Public Universities in the West.  WT also holds a high spot in Best Colleges for Veterans.
