If you travel to Huntsville on 11th St, you will see a very unique site.  However, with it being in Texas it should not surprise you.  It's almost as if a giant cowboy left behind his boot and hat.

There is a giant boot in Huntsville that you could live in.  It's a 2-bedroom, 1-bath home, with an extra room.  The boot stands 35 ft. tall and is 711 sq. ft.  Most of the living area is in an annex behind the boot, but a staircase leads you up the boot to a deck on the top of the boot.  This home is not on the market, but at one point the Cowboy Boot could be rented for $1200 per month.

The Cowboy Hat House is next to the Boot House and was built after the boot.  The home is 661 sq. ft., with 2 bedrooms and two stories.  On the top of the hat is a deck where you can relax and enjoy the view.  The home is currently under contract.

Who Created These Imaginative Houses?

The Boot House and the Cowboy Hat House are all ideas of Dan Phillps.  Phillips was an artist with the Phoneix Commotion.  The idea was to create a home made of recycled materials, and built by those apprenticing in the building world.   Phillips passed away in December 2021 leaving behind his creative legacy.
