You know what Amarillo used to have more of that I miss dearly? Good places to hang out, listen to some live music, and dance. Now, when I say dance--I mean I miss having good place to do the Texas Two-Step

Remember we had The Caravan? And we had Midnight Rodeo. And you just might even remember the Western Horseman.

Those places are all gone now....Or are they?

One place in particular is making a comeback. Mmmm-hmmm, that's right.

Let's see if you can guess which one it is....You have heard about Cactus Cove? Right? It's a totally renovated hotel on I-40 that has been there forever. You may even have known it once as the Kiva.

But now? New name, new owners, new everything.

Inside that Cactus Cove used to be the one and only The Western Horseman.

That used to be the place back in the eighties. So many people would go to have a drink, have a dance, and have some fun after the cattle sale on Tuesdays. That was the place to be.

Well...Guess what?

Those Memories are Making a Comeback in Amarillo

I have been watching Rory Schepisi as she has taken on another project. This one involves The Western Horseman. She already has two successful businesses including The Drunken Oyster and Savor. So this is just something to add her magical touches to and bring it back.

I sure hope Amarillo is ready to get to Texas Two-Steppin' again! The Western Horseman is coming back. They are in the hiring process. Which means it won't be long. Live music, dancing, a cold relaxing drink, and a good meal. Yes, please. So keep an eye out this is something we need back here in Amarillo.
