New Location Coming for Amarillo Restaurant

While driving around Amarillo I try to notice things in the area. Those a-ha moments when you see something new. When you discover something in your surroundings make for the best stories.

One of the things I have noticed is that the Grill Italia sign is gone. If you are not familiar with Grill Italia, I mean it wasn't there for very long. It also used to house BL Bistro at one point. Oh, but the stories that Grill Italia could tell.

So that is kind of sad to see that the story is over because it kept giving. The good news is that a reputable business will be moving in. If our investigative skills are any good. We know who is moving in. Well, the good news is that a post I found on social media does actually confirm my suspicions.

Back in August of 2023 the building at 2203 S Austin was sold. After doing research on the purchaser there are connections to Bangkok Tokyo. They have been at 2413 S. Western forever.

It looks like that may be a location that will soon be gone. Unless they plan on having two locations in Amarillo.

According to one person on the thread I was following in an Amarillo Restaurant Review page, it was going to be Bangkok Tokyo and he was told that the location was a total disaster. So of course something like that is going to take some time.

So we can not tell you when Bangkok Tokyo will be moving in. Luckily for now we can visit them on Western Street. I, for one, am excited about this move. It is much closer to my house. I am also excited to see a good business moving in.
