I took a few days to visit my daughter in the Dallas area. This is the first trip I got to take since I obtained my TSA Precheck status. I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I didn’t feel having it leaving Amarillo was as important as heading back from Dallas last Wednesday.

Read how you were able to do this recently HERE. Oh and why I needed it HERE.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I didn’t feel having it leaving Amarillo was as important as heading back from Dallas last Wednesday.

So when I was leaving Amarillo I even told them it was my first time using the Precheck feature. I failed miserably. Ok maybe not so bad. I just forgot to take my cell phone out of my pocket. Disaster avoided.

The process was really simple. I didn’t have to take my shoes or belt off. No longer did I have to take my laptop out of my bag. Nope. The last thing that made it easy was I didn’t have to take my liquids and put them in a Ziploc. Yes It was worth it.

Now let’s talk about the trip home. I flew Southwest, so of course, I was flying out of Love Field. I like to have plenty of time at the airport just in case. I don’t like to stress about it.

We discussed us leaving at 3:15 pm so we would be at airport by 3:45 pm. Well of course on the way my daughter needed to stop again to go to the restroom. So I knew that was going to slow us down. Oh and of course the traffic.

So it turns out will all of that we would get to airport a little after 4 pm. I wasn’t sure if there was Curbside Check in. I was excited when I saw there was was. That always saves me time.

That was a breeze....now it’s time to go through security. Oh let me tell you how nice that was. The people going through regular security were lining up. I just went through the TSA Precheck area.

It really took no time. I think there were 3 people Total in front of me....and two lines to go through. As I got to my gate I was still watching people still putting on their belts and retying their shoes.

Let me just tell you if you ever see Amarillo hosting another Precheck event. DO IT! It lasts for 4 years and SO worth it. This trip has been the easiest. I could not have been happier.
