an arts festival nor a Beefest could keep The Erwin Pawn Trade-A-Thon from it's weekly duty.

It's the radio show that invites you to call in every Saturday to list for sale the items you own but no longer need and still have value.  It's want ads on the radio and we think it gets no more useful for you than Trade-A-Thon.

THE BIG QUESTION

We ask all our callers a poll question before they give their items.  It helps provide a running stream of discussion for the program and ties all the calls together.

There was a lot going on Saturday in Amarillo.  The first arts festival downtown was going on all day in the parking lot of the downtown branch of the library and the Globe-News Center.  It was called "Create" and it is hoped the festival will propel downtown into the hearts and minds of the State of Texas, enough so they will name downtown a cultural district.

The other significant event, Beerfest, was also going on Saturday at the Civic Center.  It was a News Talk 940 event.  Along with our sister Townsquare Media stations it was also presented by Yellow City-Op Brew Pub.  We don't know how many attended Create but just under a thousand paid to get into Beerfest.  There was over 150 craft brews to sample.

Those two events begat our big question.  We were curios which you would most likely attend.

Craft Brew or Arts and Crafts?

Beer 21

Arts 7

Apparently listeners to Trade-A-Thon have a drinking issue!

RULE #6

At the beginning of each hour of the show I bring you the official rules of the program.  There are six regular rules.  Along with those I always bring you a special Rule #6.  It changes each week and is sometimes inspired by something that happened to me or I thought over the previous week.  This week I went with a personal rule I've had for years.

Misplacing something can be awfully maddening.  It's especially maddening when you've looked everywhere but that item is still missing.  Oftentimes we give up in the pursuit of that which is lost.  But don't put it off too long.  That was the rule this week.

Rule 6: The longer you wait to find something lost the harder it is to find it.

When looking for a lost item don't give up!  It may decided to stay hidden until you move to a new house.  Don't forget the old tried and true trick of looking for something else to find the thing you lost in the first place.

This is the kind of logic we bring you every Saturday.  We look forward to hosting your call and listing this weekend on News Talk 940.
