Report: Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman Didn’t Suffer a Heart Attack
Dog the Bounty Hunter star Duane Chapman did not suffer a heart attack, but all is not well, either.
TMZ paraphrases several sources who say Chapman's weekend's heart emergency was stress and high blood pressure related. Doctors performed a number of tests, including an angiogram, which came back normal.
The celebrity news website goes on to report that one source said he went home on Monday (Sept. 16), but nobody from Chapman's team has confirmed any of this. TMZ was first to share news of the heart emergency, however, which was later confirmed in a statement at the @DogBountyHunter Twitter page.
"I can confirm Dog is under doctor's care and is resting comfortably. Thank you for all of your well wishes- keep 'em coming," the realty star's rep says.
It's been a very difficult few months for Chapman and his family. The TV star's wife Beth died in late June following a battle with cancer. In the two-and-a-half months since, the 66-year-old has done several interviews and gotten in front of cameras on many occasions to talk about her life and his family's grief. Through it all he's been promoting his new WGN reality TV show Dog's Most Wanted and has dealt with compounding incidents at home, including a break-in at the family store in Colorado and internet scammers using his wife's likeness to get money from fans.
America first met the Chapmans during their A&E reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter, which chronicled Dog's work chasing fugitives, with Beth as his business partner. The show aired until 2012, but then the couple and their team starred in a spin-off called Dog and Beth: On the Hunt, which aired on CMT for three seasons.
