Okay, when it comes to city flags, Amarillo might be beaten.

Just take a look and compare.

Amarillo's flag, when compared to our Northwest Texas neighbors just seems....boring.

The colors, the design, the almost obnoxious bold font, it all just seems so outdated for a city that's making as much progress and growth as we've seen in the past decade.

As always the internet is one of the best places for ideas, even when it comes to city representation.

On r/amarilllo and r/vexiollog a subreddit for flag enthusiasts, user Wise-Importance-2590 uploaded some flags that they designed as a recommendation for Amarillo's needed flag update.

And I've gotta say, they are pretty impressive

Simple, clean, and well-representative of our city's name. If the city of Amarillo could adopt a flag like this, we could and would have so many other cities beaten in terms of flags.

I mean seriously, look at it. The flat, and yellow background with the cute, minimalistic armadillo makes for a pretty accurate representation of our town in just a few simple details.

Imagine the merchandise that could be made from this, I'm not sure about you guys but if this were on a hat or shirt and I was a traveling tourist or even a resident of the town, I would definitely consider buying it.

So Amarillo, can we please make some kind of move or petition to adopt this as our new city flag?

Say You're From Amarillo Without Saying You're From Amarillo

Amarillo is a pretty quirky place. We've got the Big Texan, the weird signs, and (obviously) the famed Cadillac Ranch. But more than that, there's a distinct culture of close-knit community, eccentrics, a thriving arts scene, and much more.

The point is, living in Amarillo is a unique experience. Because of that, it's really pretty easy to tell who's a native or a long-time resident. And I can prove it.

Here's a couple of ways you can say you're from Amarillo.....without saying you're from Amarillo.
