Attempted Robbery Of Thai Food Delivery Driver Monday

A Thai food delivery driver was assaulted Monday evening.

The driver was attempting to make a delivery to the apartments at 1500 South Bell around 9:30pm Monday.  When the driver arrived at the complex and went to get the food out of his vehicle he was approached by a black man armed with a semi-automatic handgun.  The gunman demanded money.

Initially the driver thought it was a joke and continued to attempt to make the delivery when the suspect struck him in the back of the head with the gun and again demanded money.  The driver told the suspect he didn't have any money and the gunman responded by striking the driver in the face with the weapon.

The driver had minor injuries but made it into his vehicle and escaped without further injury.  The assailant fled the scene empty handed.  The assailant was last seen running toward the center of the apartment complex.
