Amarillo WIC Program Building A Greenhouse

The Amarillo WIC program is recognized as on of the best such programs in the country.  And now they are getting a little help.

In December WIC was awarded a nearly $320,000 grant to construct a green house.

The WIC program serves nearly 8,000 people each month.  As part of the program participants are required to take a variety a classes.  The classes include gardening and nutrition.

With the new greenhouse WIC will be able to offer those classes year round.
